Prawn cocktail and avocado salad

I've always looked forward to my mum's prawn cocktail starter on Christmas days, and the only problem with them is that I've always wanted more! So with my prawn cocktail salad, I've gone ahead and made more, adding in some avocado which, for me, brings the lunch together to form the most festive salad I've ever eaten. Instead of Tabasco, I shake some cayenne pepper in to give it its heat.

Three fun facts:
  • Originates from Britain.
  • Originally, it wasn’t a very popular dish, but TV chef Fanny Cradock introduced it into the mainstream in the 1960’s.
  • The cocktail sauce is ketchup and mayonnaise in Britain, but in the States they substitute the mayonnaise with horseradish.
